Design Thinking workshop: Fostering Creativity and Innovation

The Department of Management Studies conducted a two-day Design Thinking Workshop for MBA Semester 3 students on March 12 and 13, 2025, led by Mr. Ramani Venkat, an NLP and Design Thinking trainer. The workshop aimed to provide students with practical insights into design thinking, fostering creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills to tackle business challenges. By focusing on the five stages of design thinking—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—the workshop was interactive and experiential. Activities included empathy mapping, brainstorming, rapid prototyping, and final presentations to faculty and industry experts. Icebreaker sessions, such as the marshmallow challenge, highlighted the importance of iteration and teamwork. Students gained hands-on experience, enhanced their ability to empathize with users, and learned to collaboratively develop innovative, market-ready solutions. The workshop also strengthened problem-solving skills, promoted cross-functional teamwork, and encouraged out-of-the-box thinking, making it an engaging program that fostered innovation and critical thinking.
