IIMBX B SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

The Department of Management Studies in association with IIMBx conducted webinar on “Organisational design” for 3rd Semester MBA students on 7th Dec 2020.
The session speaker Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Professor of Organisational behaviour, Chairperson of centre of teaching and learning at IIM bangalore gave a brief introduction and explained the importance of Organisational design and culture.

The session continued solving a case study on Google Organisational culture and students were forced to think out of the norm as to how the culture in the organistaion impacts the productive. There was multiple questions both from the students and the professor.

It was very interactive and much needed session for students to understand various concepts and in depth knowledge of the subject.
Questions on Google culture as to why Google allows to get their pets to work and their organistional culture to promote innovation was very tricky to understand. Prof. Sourav Mukerji stratigically questioned so that students think of out the box and understand the acutual need for ogranisational culture and how it impacts both internal and external stakeholders.

It was a very different approach on how the session solved the case. The students understood how the google despite their out of the norm organisational design and culture is able to satisfy their stakeholders and investors. Though everyone might not be okay with getting their pets to work or have their own music station at work or naming each every blocks in the company. It is important to understand that if these are matching with organistaional core values, mission and vision, it will succeed, Hence proved by Google.
