The Department of Management Studies organized a webinar on the topic “The Latest Development in Capital Market” for all the students of MBA by Mr. Bharat Kumar Dave, senior manager, Bombay Stock Exchange. The students of MBA joined the webinar via webinar meeting. This session was very informative with a clear understanding on the latest development that has been taken place in capital market.

The speaker first introduced themselves and then briefed us on various information like history of BSE, its features and a overview of BSE since the session was organized under Investors Protection Fund we were also briefed on safeguards for investors, rights of investors, Investors Protection Fund, process of trading and the latest development in capital structure.

The speaker advised that before investing it is necessary for us to know the rules and regulation provided by SEBI and start investing in a small amount in order to understand how the trading process works and through which we can gain experience in investing into stock market and can further invest once we have good knowledge about it.

He also mentioned how important it is to keep ourselves updated with the daily news and especially finance and economical situation that is prevailing in the world and how the use of recent technologies are changing the phase of the BSE and how it is important for the investor as well as students to keep themselves aware and updated with the information concerned to the stock market.

He also mentioned how the covid-19 had impacted the BSE including the companies and the investors and how despite the challenges they are managing to keep up with their performances and working towards the company’s objective. At the end of the session he answered the questions raised by our students which was related to both stock market and as well as questions related to building profession in finance field.

The speaker provided the students with some guidelines and learning out of his experience in BSE and what qualities a student must possess to be competent enough to apply for a particular job and what are companies expecting out of them especially during the pandemic both from the fresher and as well as the experienced candidates.
