Awareness & Registration Camp for PM Ayushman scheme

The students of Department of Management Studies, New Horizon College of Engineering actively took part as the volunteers for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in the villages Nimbekaipura and Cheemasandra of Bangalore District on August 24, 2019. The objective of the visit were to spread awareness about “Jana Arogya Yojana” and Green Environment to the villagers, the activities done are explained in brief below:

The team consisted of 36 members including 4 professors of Department of Management Studies; The team left from the college sharply at 9:30AM via college bus. During the journey to the destinations students were grouped into two batches. Batch 1 consisting of 10 members and batch 2 consisting of 22 members. The team reached Nimbekaipura at 10:40AM and batch 1 students were made to get down there since it was the smaller village as compared to “Report on Unnat Bharat Abhiyan” 2018-2020 Department of Management Studies Page 2 Cheemasandra. Then the batch 2 reached Cheemasandra at 11AM. The data collection survey and awareness program was done by covering almost all the houses of the villages and students distributed the saplings for the women of both the villages.

The students created awareness about the “Ayushman Bharat yojna” for the villagers which will be helpful for the poor people for medical facilities in the private hospitals. The scheme provides those in need to get secondary healthcare benefits provided by specialists like cardiologists and urologists. Moreover, advanced medical treatment like that for cancer, cardiac surgery and other is also covered. All the planned work was done and the team returned to college with the happy faces by 3:00PM. It was immense pleasure and gratitude for the students to work as the volunteers for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
