Department of Management Studies in association with Industry Institution Interaction Cell and New Horizon College of Engineering organized “New Horizon Business Conclave – 2019” on 12th Oct 2019 in New Horizon Auditorium. The theme was Innovation and Society. It is a one day intercollegiate management symposium which had two panel discussions. The chief guest for the conclave was Ms Shefali Sonpar, Senior director, Head insurance practices, UST Global and the conclave advisor was Mr Surya Prakash Mohapatra, Global Talent head, Wipro Digital operations and Transformations. The two panel discussions covered various aspects of highly contemporary concepts, innovation and society. The panel discussion was followed by question and answer session. New Horizon Business Conclave -2019 in a way was a convergence of both industry and academia under a single roof.

After a brief introduction by the Head, Dept of Management Studies, Dr. Sheelan Misra, In his opening remarks, the Dean Academics Dr. Prashanth gave classic examples of how innovation is fostering growth in various sectors including medicine, housing and law. The Advisor of the Conclave Mr. Surya Prakash Mohapatra emphasised the need for Purpose Driven Economy. The Chief guest of the Conclave Ms. Shefali Sonpar gave the examples of evolution of Business giants like the Apple and the Google. She suggested a 5 point strategy for competitive advantage, innovation and solutions. In his presidential address, the principal of NHCE Dr. Manjunatha emphasised the need for creating jobs rather than seeking jobs.

The Moderator for the first panel was, Mr. Surya Parakash Mohapatra, and the panellist were Mr. Deendayalan S, Chief Architect, Centre for Excellence in Organization Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Pradeep Kote, Head – Campus Recruitment, TCS, Dr. Prashanth CSR , Dean – Academics, NHCE, Ms. Kirthana Ramarapu – Executive Director, Learning Parachute India Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Santosh G – Director, ICTMAE; CIMSME;CEIIE; CEO, Azile Infoworld, Mr. Kamal Artwani – HR Leader, Rakuten India, and Mr. Madan Reddy Singam, Managing Director, Planet Finance.

For the second panel, the Key Note address was delivered by Prof. Bholanath Dutta, Social Entrepreneur, Founder, MTC Global and the moderator was Mr. Mohan, Practice Head, WIPRO Ltd. The panellists were Mr. Mohit Gupta, President, Learning & Development , Mr. Ranjan Manish, Head-Industry Institute Interaction Cell, NHCE, Dr. Gowtham Mukherjee, Co-founder & CEO, Sportify, Dr. Sowmya N, Head – Department of Life Skills and Life Long Learning , NHCE , Mr. Chirag Kashyap, Co-founder and CEO, Open my Book and 3 MBA Student Panelists namely, Mr. Gowtham, Ms. Sheha Kriti and Mr. Sharshi Kiran. The one day conclave ended with a concluding remarks and vote of thanks by the Organizing secretary Dr. A.R. Sainath, Prof. Dept of Management Studies.
