Report on guest lecture on topic “Budget 2019-20”
Department of Management Studies organized a guest lecture on “Budget 2019-20 and its impact” on 23/08/2019 by Mr. Vijay Belavadi, Managing Partner, BRK Law Partners. He is an eminent person in international and domestic law had made time to share his valuable knowledge with students. He gave a brief overview of the process of the preparation of the Union Budget. He further explained the process of allocation of budget with respect to industries and ministries and also the concept of GST.
The guest embarked on the topic of the Budget system in the country and an in-depth knowledge about the financial position of the telecom industry. He also gave us an idea about the overall sources through which the government of the country draws revenues. The guest gave valuable insights about the various ways through which Start up India is actually functioning in India. Sir poured valuable insights about how the current budget focusses on Start Up in India and how the initiative of the government of the country does is capable of creating new opportunities to the budding entrepreneurs.
Overall, the session was a very interactive and a very informative one as there was a lot of insights which was backed by relevant facts and figures. It was also very beneficial to the students as they got valuable information to take away and also filled in the kind of interest required for students who are aspiring to become entrepreneurs in the near future. The students were able to correlate with the data given he used simple and live examples which everyone in the room could easily connect with.
