The Department of Management Studies and the Department of R&D, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organised an expert talk on 19 May 2026 on “Training on Technology, Commercialisation, Licensing and Transfer Practices.” The session aimed to provide MBA students with valuable insights into the business and managerial aspects of technology commercialisation and innovation management.

The programme focused on developing students’ understanding of intellectual property rights, licensing models, and technology transfer processes. It enabled participants to gain knowledge of how innovative ideas are transformed into commercially viable products and services. The session also highlighted the significance of patents, licensing procedures, and industry practices in effective technology management.

Students gained awareness of market analysis and commercialisation strategies that are essential for business growth and sustainability. The speaker emphasised the importance of industry–academia collaboration in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and the successful adoption of new technologies.

Through interactive discussions and case-based learning, students enhanced their conceptual understanding and practical knowledge of technology management. The programme also contributed to the development of analytical thinking, strategic decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Participants improved their understanding of negotiation, market evaluation, and the management of technology-driven business initiatives.

The session encouraged entrepreneurial thinking by demonstrating how innovative ideas can be converted into sustainable business ventures.
