SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
Unique Domain Workshop – Logistics and Supply Chain Workshop
As part of the Unique Domain Workshop Week – Day 3, a workshop on Logistics and Supply Chain Management was successfully conducted at New Horizon College of Engineering on 9th April 2026, from 09:30 AM to 04:30 PM. The session was led by Mr. Avijit Dubey, Independent Consultant, who delivered valuable practical insights into the real-world functioning of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) industry.
The workshop offered both conceptual understanding and industry-oriented exposure, focusing on key industry expectations, current SCM trends, essential skills, and career preparation strategies for MBA students.
A major highlight was the emphasis that Supply Chain Management extends far beyond logistics — encompassing procurement, production planning, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution. Mr. Dubey explained how globalisation, the rapid growth of e-commerce, and rising customer expectations are making supply chains increasingly dynamic and complex. He stressed that companies seek candidates with strong problem-solving ability, communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive mindset alongside theoretical knowledge.
On the technical front, proficiency in MS Excel, data analysis, ERP systems like SAP, Power BI, and AI-based tools were highlighted as critical competencies. Equally important were soft skills such as coordination, time management, and decision-making for handling real-time operational challenges. The speaker also encouraged students to pursue relevant certifications and build a strong professional network to stay competitive.
Feedback from students was highly positive, with real-world examples of delivery delays, demand fluctuations, and coordination challenges making the session particularly engaging and relatable.
Overall, the workshop was informative and motivating, successfully bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations while inspiring students to pursue continuous skill development in the Supply Chain Management field.
